ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS.
The annual meeting of tho New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts is to be held on Monday, August 25, and nominations for office should reach the secretary on or before Saturday next. Several notices of motion havo been received by the secretary. One is to the effect that the end of the financial year be altered to March 31, instead of June 30. Another motion urges that tho annual meeting bo held in May instead of in August. It will also be moved that Article 44 bo amended by the addition of the following words: "The president and at least seven of the remaining members shall be artist members." The term "Artist member" means one that, has b«en elected as such, and has exhibited at tho annual exhibition at least once during the previous three years. A, further motion reads:—The following bo added to Article 66: "Provided that all works for exhibition be selected by a oommittee of nine artist members to bo chosen by such of the would-be exhibitors as are artist members of the academy, at a meeting to be held at least fourteen days before the opening'day of each exhibition." "The Ranging of works chosen for exhibition b|r such selection committee shall be earned out by a committee of three elected at the same time and in the same manner as the selection committee, and who may or may not be members of such eelection committee."
