C. and Miss Lily Wright, of Wellington' have been in tho Midlands since April, and are at present in London. They next go to Scotland, making Edinburgh their headquarters, then for some weeks to Wales, and return in September. Mr. and Mrs. C. R, Chapman, of Dunedin, have returned to London after a nine months' visit to the Continent. Mr. E. A. Turner, of Ashbnrton, spent somo time in Italy before visiting relations in the Austrian Tyrol. Ho also travolled in Germany ,and Holland. Mr. Henry Gray, of Auckland, has purchased a "caravan," nnd proposes to make leisurely progress through the' beauty spots of England. H© will bo here till November. Mr. George Owen, of Christchurch, who arrived in London a few weeks ago from an extensivo tour of Canada and America, leaves again for New Zealand in August. Tho Rov. Albert C. Lawry, of St. John's, Ponsonby, and Mrs. Lawry, spent a month in Cana<la and America, on route for Ireland, Mrs. Lawry"s birthplace. A New Zealander, an old lwy of the Commercial Travellers' School, has offered to present a challenge sHiield for ride shooting to the school as a memento of happy years ho spent there. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Vernon, of.Palmcrston North, and Mr. and Miss Somerville, of Dunedin, have arrived in London, via America. They left last week for a five weeks' tour on the Continent. Miss Agnes MacGreffor, of Dunedin, accompanied by her sister, left Madras in tha middle of May, and visited Toulon, Florence, and Genoa, en route for London. They leave shortly for Scotland. Mr. and Mrs. Gaisford, of' Bangitikci, left last week on a motor. tour through the south-western counties, and later go on t} tho Lake District, Scotland, and probably Ireland, nnd then the Continent. Mr. J. C. Spedding, and Mr. Robertson, of Auckland, attended the World's Y.M.C.A. Conference in Scotland.' They intend motoring in Scotland, and will be acci-mpanied by Mrs. Robertson and Mrs, Spedding., Mr. Malcolm M. Irving, of Christchurch, who left for Australia last autumn, has unexpectedly returned to London on account of his health. After spending somo timo on tho Continent, he will return to Australasia. Sir. G. J. Bruce, of Dunedin, has returned to London after a business tour through Canada and the United States in the interests of a London publishing house. He intends to revisit the Highlands, before again going- abroad. Miss A. Holland, of Auckland, is spending a few weeks in London. She will travel in the Midlands, Scotland, and in tho South of England, and before returning to New Zealand slio hopes to spend some time on the Continent. Mr. and Mrs.'Robinson, of Nelson, and their daughter, liavo been visiting' relatives and friends sinco they landed, ami aro now going to Scotland. They will then go to the Cotswold Hills.* Torquay, and Bristol, and later to the Continent. ' Mr. Mrs. Goodson, of Auckland, visited Canada and America en route for England. They aro now staying at Harrogate for a month,, thence go to Scotland, Clifton, Devonshire, nnd Cornwall, and leave Plymouth in November. ■ Mr. and Mrs. John Hessey, of- Masterton, who were to have sot out on an extensive motor trip, had to postpone it on account of the illness of Mrs. Hessoy, who underwent a serious operation. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, of Auckland, aro visiting relations and friends, lifter an nbsenco of thirty years. Mrs. Smith, who is interested in .ambulance work, received, at St. John's Gate, on June 9, tho insignia of an Honorary Serving Sister, of tho Ordor of .the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England. Amongst tho students taking part in the annual Demonstration of Dancing and Swedish Gymnastics at tho Bedford Physical Training Collesre last Saturday was Miss Helen Osier, of Auckland. Tho Misses M. and W. Grace, ,of Blenheim, aro at present staying in London in order to.be near thoir brother, Captain Grace,' formerly nf New Zealand, who is just now on furlough from India. At tho end of July thev go to Cumberland to relatives, and then on to Scotland and Ireland. Lnter they will visit the Continent, and will return to New Zealand via Cairo and Suez. Amongst thoso admitted Fellows.nf tho Royal Colleee of SiiTgenns last week was Mr. A. C. Palmer, of Dunedin. Mr. William P. Robinson', M.R.C.S. (E.), M.li., and 8.5., of Riccarton. wllo is now house surgeon at Guy's Hospital, will nrobnbly stay in England until lie takes Sis F.R.C.S.,' the primary! examination of which lie has already ousted. Mr. J. F. G. 'Richards, M.8.. M.R.C.S,, 8.5., of Wellington, Mr. Vincent Glendining, of Dunedin, and Mr. Stanley George, of Wellington, aro also at Guy's Hospital, the first two as hoiisa surgeons and the la«t as house physician. Mr. H. D. Broadhead, of New Zealand, who, in March last, won a senior scholarship in classics at Trinitv College, has gained further honours. In the Classical Tripos he has obtained a first-class, eecond division. Mr. Brnadheatl has thus graduated rath distinction nft»r only two years' residence. He lias also been awarded a Jeston Exhibition. Mr .and Mrs. Brosdliwd are spending a few weeks in Cambridge prior to sailing for Now Zealand.
