nUGE BRIBES TO REBEL DESERTERS By Telegraph—Press Association—Oopyrisht (Rec. August 11, 9.20 p.m.) , . Peking, August 11. The rcccnt revolt has cost the Government .£2,000,000. This amount was chiefly expended in bribing rebel deserters. Four Government detachments are advancing on the Woosung Forts, which are short .of ammunition. Some war junks at Woosung attempted to desert, but. only one escaped. Tho rebels burnt the rest.
