Feilding Notes. Mrs. l'ringle (Christclmrcli) is staying with Mrs. Blaxall. Ma-s. Kingdon (New Plymouth) is at present in town. Mrs. Mountfort has returned from Nelson. The Bridge Club met last week at Mrs. Miles's' house. Among the players were Mesdames Willis, Gillespie, Innes-Jones, Halliday, Porter, Gorton, Wheeler, Walkar, Bki.\-all, and others. 01r.s. Horrouks has gone to New Plymonth. Mrs. Long gave a very enjoyable bridge party on Thursday. Among the guests were Mesdames Walker, Kingdon, Jiockl'ort, Atkinson, Pringle (Chriitchurch), Blaxa'U, Ross, and others. Hiss Gibbons (Auckland) is staying with Mrs. 'Corr. Mrs. Wall has returned from Wellington. Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Petherick (Wellington) are tho guests of Mrs. Upjuy. Miss innes-Jones has returned from Wanganui. Miss Wheeler, who has been visiting friends in Wiuiganui, has returned to Feilding. Tho marriage took place in the Pitt Street Methodist Church, Auckland, last week of Jliss L. Probert to Mr. Samuel Houghton. The ceroinony was performed by tho Rev. W. Ready, and tho service was fully choral. Mr. and Mrs. Houghton will live in Napier, where the former holds the positioii of electrician to the Napier Borough Council. Dr. and Mrs. Fitchett left Wellington yesterday for Auckland, where they intend staying for tho next fortnight. Miss Hay ward, matron of the McsteTton Hospital, Ms returned from her visit to tho \Vest Coast. There was an excellent attendance at the Uartertou Fire Brigade cudi.ru tourney and dance held on Friday evening. The prizes wcire won by Miss Ordish ami Mr. -A. Smith, the consolation prizes going to Miss Merowood and Mr. -J. M'Kenrae. Mr. C. Lee presided at the piano for the dance held afterwards. A bridge party for the benefit of the plain and fancy stall that is being organised in connection with the Boys' Institute Pageant was held at the residence of Mrs. Muir yesterday. There were about six tables, and the winners of the afternoon were Mrs. Herdey, and Miss Marchant.
