The trail included' sod walls, brush fences, ditches, and one or two small wiro fenoes. Tho day was damp and fairly cold. Tlrreo teams entered—Wellington, Otago, and Southland, though the latter team was only raised at tho last minnte. The result pro-red a handsome win for Otago, whoso five men got home first, , headed-by.
