It was resolved to disqualify him. His interest to Is? forfaited and llio section allotted to Anuie Smith. It wan recommended that his deposit lie refunded. Applications to purchase 7 acres at Epariiua, IS acres at Waingaromw, and 311 acres at Ivaiwaka wcro recommended for approval. t Tlirco applications wcro roccjvod for Section IS4, Block 5, Takapau, 1). J. Jo.vncr, of Dannovirke, being successim. Hewitt, tho newly-appointed superintendent, who erectcd the plant for tho contractors, was moro than satisfied with the result. Tho first engine was started by Mrs. Hewitt.
