HEMP & TOW GRADING.
INCREASING FIGURES. . A return compiled by tho Department of Agriculture showing the quantities of liemp and tow graded atjtho ports of the Dominion during the month of July, gives the total number of - bales of hemp as 9487, as compared with- 4021 for tho corresponding month of last year, an increase of 48G6 bales. For the twelvo months onding July 31, 1913, the, number of bales graded was 150,527, as compared with 01,972 for the provious twelve months, the increase being 58,555. The tow graded during the month was 3201 bales, as compared with 154!) for the corresponding month of last year, an increase of 1712 bales. For the twelve months ending July 31, 1913, the number of bales graded was 52,2G5, as. compared with 25,377 for the previous twelve months, tho increase being. 2G,888 bales.
