FIRE IN A MINE.
TWENTY MINERS PERISH. By Telegraph—Press Association—CopyrightLondon, August 4. A fire ' has occurred 'at Cadder colliery, Mavis Valloy, near Glasgow. Twenty-three men are entombed. (Rcc. August 5, 0.45, a.m.) The fire was discovered when the afternoon shift was finishing work. Three of the men escaped. Two rescue parties were driven back by the' smoke. At a third attempt, five bodies wero recovered. All lopo of saving the remaining fifteen has been abandoned. ,
