PEOPLE'S PICTURE PALACE.
CLAIM FOR PAYMENT.
Matters connected with tho formation of the People's Picture Palace Company, Ltd., proprietors of a. picture theatre in Manners Street, gave iriso to a civil action, which oamo on for hearing in tho Supreme Court in June, before his Honour Mr. Justice Chapman, but which had to be adjourned owing to the illness of the plaintiff, Henry A. Evans, sharebroker, of Wellington. The defendant was Francis Loudon, company promoter, Wellington. Mr. T. M. Wilford (instructed by Mr. A. M. Salek) appeared for Evans, wfhile Mir. O. N. Beere appeared for Loudon. Particulars of the cJaim and tho defence were published when tho case first camo besfore the Court. Evans sued for ■£18-1 17s. 4<1., balance alleged to be duo for eervioes rendered in connection with the formation of a syndicate. Several witnesses had been examined at the previous hearing, and on Saturday morning the evidence was -concluded. After hearing argument his Honour reserved decision.
