(By Telegraph.—Pnsss Association.) Wanganul, August 2. In tho past the coast between Turakina and Otaki rivers has bee.n the scene of many draadincs and has borne an evil reputation. Tho latest victim was the Indrabaxah, and as the lesson, from her .mishap the Harbour 80-aird decided to draw this attention of tho Marine Department to the number of vessels whncli have been driven ashore on the coast in question. and expressed the opinion that the coast. is subject to rapidly-ohiaugins ocean ourwmts, which aro insufficiently defined on the Ciok Sfirait chant or other oublicntioiiK. The Marine Department is to bo asked to take steps at onee to ascertain if there he such currents or other phenomena endangering shipDinsr;. <md ■that the mercantile marine be fuilly advised, and warned through the proper channels.
