MURDER OF A POLICEMAN.
"FORMAL" SENTENCE OP DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrlchl Sydney, July 31. The trial of Thomas Edwin Brown, on a charge of murdering Polico-Sergeant Hickey on May 1 last, has concluded. Brown was found guilty, with a recommendation to mercy, on the ground of his apparently eccentric state of mind. Tho death sentence was formally passed.
