RAID AND SLAUGHTER.
NATIVE OUTBREAK IN PAPUA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrisht (Rec. July 30, 5.55 p.m.) Brisbane, July 30. Father M'Arthy, who has arrived here from New Guinea, states that recently tho natives went on a raiding expedition in tho vicinity of Owen Stanley Range. A village was wiped out, and a native constablo shot, while many ol' tho villagers were slaughtered. It is reported that n punitive expedition, which was sent to the disturbed area, caught and shot several of the raiders.
