BIG GATHERING TO-DAY. The conference of tho Agricultural and Pastoral Societies of New Zealand will meet fo-dnjy- at the Chamber ef Commerce. A number of tho delegates arrived in tho city by yesterday evening's trains, and others aro expected from tho south by this morning's boat. A lengthy list of remits is set down for, consideration, and addresses will bo delivered by' tho Prime Minister. Professor K. 11. Alexander ("Plant Breeding and the Improvement of Seed"), Mr. A. H. Cocknyno ("Weed Problem and Its Significance in New Zealand Agriculture"), Mr. B. C. Aston ("Phosphates"), and Mr. C. J. lieakes ("Certain. Nutritive Disorders of Live Stock"). Tho names of the deleRates and the list of remits were published in. The ' Dominion* of July 11. "Deeds, not words," is what every man looks for now-a-days, more especially tin Cheese, Factory Manager who wants equipment that "makes good."
