If tho statements regarding such transactions wero anything liko true, this hospital had boon simply a don of murder. If children had not been absolutely dono to death, they had probably been allowed to starve away. Er'soii was in an unfortunate position. Erson tad signed over forty certificates, but liad attended only twenty-six cases, his explanation being that ho had signed tho certificates in blank through carelessness. The nurses wero found guilty, and each ■ was sentenced to twelve .months' imprisonment, and fined .£IOO each, Erson was acquitted.
