NO-CONFIDENCE.
« VICTORIAN POLITICAL CRISIS TIDED OVER. By TelccraDh—Press .Association—Conyrlith' (Rec. July 30, 0.20 a.m.) Melbourne, July 511. The Victorian State political crisis nits abruptly terminated at a meeting of Liberals, lield outside the Ministry, wn.en there was adopted a series of resolutions: "That tho best interests of the party would be served by allowing tho want-of-confidence motion to lapse." "That while willingly recognising tho leadership of Mr. Watt, wo consider tli-ii tho Government as at present constituted does not represent the best judgment of the party, and therefore the Government should frankly acknowledge tho situation and give Mr. Watt a free hand to reconstruct the Government." When tho Assembly met, Mr. M'Leod, tho mover, requested the withdrawal of his want-of-coniidence motion. Tho Acting-Leaded- of tho,.Labouir party blocked the withdrawal, and Mr. 31'Leod and seven other Liberals thereupon left the Chamber. The House then divided on the want-of-confidenco motion, which wa9 negatived by 32 votes to 19, the minority consisting of tho Labour party and one Liberal. In view of the tone of tho resolutions which tho Liberal meeting adopted, it is believed that another crisis is pending. NEW SOUTH WALES CENSURE DEBATE. (Rec. July 30, 0.50 a.m.) Sydney, July 29.
