During tho ooutso of a Bible-in-scliools meeting, Canon Garland reminded tho audienco that Dean Fitchett, of Dunedin, ou belialf of tho league, had offered to pay the expenses of _tvno teachors to visit Australia and inquire into tho working of tho sclicmo in thai; country. So far tho challengo hud not been accepted, and ho wished to renew that offer in a more definite form. Ho stated that ho would pay tho expenses of Mr. T. U. AVolls, president of the Teachers' Institute of New Zealand, and of any other teacher selected by Mr. Wells. • Ho thought it was a fair assumption that as Mr. Wells had been elected by the New Plymouth Conference, bo wag not regarded by teachers as a supporter of the league. Tho league would bo prepared to trust his report provided the teachers would abide by tho result.
