FROM LOCAL WHARVES. Yesterday tho Union Company's' East Coast trader Maitai was berthed at tho King's Wharf for tlio purpose.of taking on board a largo shipment of frozen meat. The meat cargo will bo transhipped to 11.M.5. Niagara at Auckland and taken to Vancouver. This is tho first shipment of frozen meat sent from Wellington direct to Vanootivcr. For tho lost few weeks the South Taranaki Steam Ship Company's steamers Mana and Hawera have been running frozen meat cargoes from Patea end Waitara to Oneliunga for transhipment to the Niagara at Auckland.
