ROWING.
WELLINGTON CLUB'S EEPOET. In their report to be presented at the annual meeting of tho Wellington Rowing Club this evening, the committee state, inter alia, that during tho year 29 new members were olccted and 2 members resigned, making an increase in member, ship of 27,' which is very satisfactory, Tho committee noto with regret tho nonsuccess of the club regatta crews. The total amount of prize money won at regattas this season was Xl 9. The usual programme of club races was held during the season, and somo keen racing resulted. The weather .was unfavourable, and interfered somewhat with the races being got off. If members would only come down and help the Eaco Committee by their attendance, the races would be got off quicker and more satisfactorily. Members ehould attend regularly, and not oause the' scratching of their crew by their non-attendance. During the season the club has aded to tlie plant one best-nnd-best four, two sets of racing-oars, and two sets of racing sculls. Tho oommittoo lias incurred considerable expense in renovating the Shed. Electric light has been installed, and tho shed is now totter lighted and drier than it has been for a very long time. Tho oommittee would liko to see members come forward and Mp to keep the placo clean and tidy, instead of leaving tho work to the committee, who have enough to do in other ways. Tho committee wish to thank members for their assistance during the season: Messrs. ,T. W. Nidd, J. Hutclieson, and W. Shilling, for donations; Mr. Mathieson, for presenting a medal; Messrs. Rafter, Miss B. Ferris, and Miss E. Ferris, for their kind assistance at the swimming sports and on opening day. During tho season Mr. C. Symonds resigned from the position of secretary, and Mr. Lacey was elected in his place. Mr. W. Gaudin, wlio has held Hie office of captain for a record number of years, and has done yeoman , service to tho club, retired from taking an active part in the affairs of tho club at the end of last season, and the position has been filled by Mr. A. V. Mathieson. Mr. W. J. Gaudin and Mr. W. Shilling, who have done such good service for the club in. years gone by, were unanimously elected to life membership at the Inst annual meeting. The club lias in the past enjoyed a yery good reputation, and there is not the slightest reason why 'that reputation should not be regained.
