Robert Siover, proprietor of the "Winning Post," has applied to Mr. Justice Darling to reconsider the question of costs in tlio libel case which. Wootton brought against him. The jury awarded Wootton one farthing damages, and Mr. Justice Darling gave costs against Siever. Mr. Marshall Hall, IC.C., in malting the application for Siever, stated that, tlio jurymen had written to S lover's solicitors dissenting from Mr. Justico Darling's action, which his Lordship had/ prefaced by the statement that he believed ho understood why tho jury had not given heavier damages. When Mr. Justice Darling was informed of tho letter ho gave tho defence the address of other jurymen, who also replied, but he now declined to open tho letters, and refused the application, but stated that the defendants were at liberty to appeal.
