THREE INQUESTS. TRENTHAM RACECOURSE CASE. Tliree inquests were'held by the District Coroner (Dr. A. M'Arthur,- S.M.) at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning. In tho case of Hector Joseph Campbell, ■ tlie jockey who was kicked on the head during the Wellington Racing Club's meeting, a . verdict was returned thatdeath -was due .to meningitis, caused by his being struck on tho head .by a. horso's hoof. In the case of Mabel Ada Hanham.who died at <Berhamporo on Thursday morning, the verdict was that, death was tho result of poisohing, deceased having taken an overdose of a mild poison while of unsound mind. Poison was also the cause of the death of Joliann George Bay, a working jeweller, tlio'coroner finding that the poison was self-administered whilo deceased was in a depressed state of mind. WELLINGTON MAN'S DEATH. (By Telegraph-Press AFsrcintion.) Christchurch, July 26, George Brodcrick Corner, chemist of Wellington, was found dead on the beach at Little Rakaia. yesterday. Ho had been shooting with a pea Tifie, and he had . a buillot in the right temple. Apparently doath was accidental. [Tho late Mt. Corner, was twenty-nine years of age and was unmarried. He was 'lately manager of Mr. Castle's pharmacy in Cou-rtonay Place, and had just recently given up that position with a view to entering into business on his own account. At tho time of the accident ho was on a holiday visit to a brother who is a farmer at Southbridge.
