HON. J. W. SAUER, CABINET MINISTER. By Telegraph—Preee Association—Copyright Cape Town, July 24. The Hon. J. W. Saner, South African Union Minister for Agriculture, is dead. [Mr. Saner, lawyer and politician, was educated at tho South African College. On entering Capo politics he became a follower of Sir Gordon Sprigg, was Secretary for Native Affairs under Sir Thomas Scanlon, Colonial Secretary under Mr. Rhodes, and Leader of the Opposition until IS9G. In the Union Government he was Minister for Railways and Harbours until 1012, when he becaruo Minister for Agriculture. Ho refused a Knighthood.]
