MAORI WAR HEROES.
VICTORIA LKAGUE'S MEMORIAL. A sum of <£1000 has been promised by the Minister for Financo to the Victoria League of Auckland, to enable it to erect. « memorial to commemorate the deeds of soldiers, and sailors who fell in the New Zealand wars. Steps are now being taken by the league towards the accomplishment of the idea which it has promoted for several years, its first concern being to secure an appropriate design for the memorial. It has been found impossible to compile a complete list of all tlio men who died in active service, and the monument will therefore be erected as a commemoration of the sum of their loyalty and courage. Publicity will bo given (o the scheme in the four cities of the Dominion, and in Sydney and Melbourne, nnd to the league's invitation for designs. Authors of designs will bo free to suggest the material to be used in the construction of the memorial, but the cost must not excced .£IOOO. The author of the selected design will be entrusted with tlio carrying out of the work. The triangular reserve at the junction of Wakefield and Symonds Streets, has been given to the league by tlio Auckland City Council as a site for the memorial, and about has been subscribed in tlio city to meet contingent expenses. Designs are to bo sent to tho league not later than January 10.
URIC ACID TROUBLES FLY BEFORE ' THE MAGIC OF RIIEUMO. 'Tis always painful to watch the sufferings of those who. are afflicted by Rheumatism, Gout, Lumbago, or Sciatica. Torturo day and night—a trouble to themselves and those around them, no rest or peace—the story ia the same almost in every case. But there is a brighter side oftimcs —for many tell of how they recovered their health and strength through RHEUMO, tho world-famed cure for Uric Acid troubles. Hero is a case in point. Mr. Geo. Colledge, of Wellington, writes: "A few weeks ago I was attacked with Rheumatic Gout; my feet were much swollen and I had to keep to my bed. Hearing of your cure for Gout I sent for a bottle of RHEUMO, and after taking a- few doees the effect was magical, tho severe pain left, and the swelling disapjieared. I was soon on my feet again and able to go to work." Here is but au isolated instance of UHEUMO'S wonderful curative qualities, yet thero are still those who buy useless quack nostrums because they are <i little cheaper than Rheumo. Don't be misled, RHEUMO is the oue and only genuino dire for rheumatic., troubles. Of ail chemists and stores, 2a. Gd. and is. Gd.—Advt.
