The Phoenix Company, n. Christchurch concern, commenced drilling at Moturoa yesterday, and the Consolidated Oilfields of Tar-onaki (also a Christchurch concern) commenced to-day at Hniroa. inland of Stratford. Both these companies are under the management of Mr. Fedeorowicz. The Bonithon Company, of Wellington, commences to-morrow between New Plymouth and Moturoa. Several other companies are also starting soon. The refinery is working satisfactorily. It will be formally opened on Monday next.
