CELEBRATIONS AT BIRMINGHAM. By Telegraph—Press Aesociation-Copyright London, July 21. A largo gathering of leading business men attended tho centenary celebrations of tho Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. Those present included Mr. M'Bride (Victorian Minister for Mines), Sir Newton Mooro "(Agent-General for Western Australia), and Sir John M'Call (Agent-General for Tasmania). At tho inaugural meeting' at the Town Hall Sir George Roid (High Commissioner for Australia), ' was. , the chief speaker.. Ho outlined the remarkable advance made by Birmingham and the Empire during the last one hundred years. SVFHIAGETTES ACTIVE. (Rec. July 22,11.15 p.m.) London, July 22. The Suffragettes were active on the occasioji of Mr. Asrjnihh's visit to the Birmingham Commerce Centenary. A nuinl Tier of windows in the Grand Hotel were broken.
