MUSICAL AWARDS.
PRESENTED BY THE GOVERNOR, Tho medals, prizes, awl certificates gained in local examination.-'. l'Jl2, of the Trinity Collego of Music, London, were distributed last night by his Excellency tho Governor (Lord Liverpool), at a gathering held in tie Sydney Street Schoolroom. Tho Hon. It. A. Loughnnn, M.L.C., presided, and apologised lor the unavoidable absence of the Hon. A. L. llerdmnn (Minister for Justice). The schoolroom was crowded with relatives and friends of the successful students. The chairman paid a tribute to the excellent results that had been Attained f.t. tho examinations, and referred to tho comments passed by the competent exam l iners on the performances of tho stuidsnts. Ho also thanked his Excellency _ for his generosity in presenting a special gold medal l'or award. The medallists wire Miss Ethel Evans, junior modallist; Miss Cecilia Dwyer, >issociate pianist; Miss Blanche Crump, intermediate medallist; Miss May M'Kinley. second senior medallist; Miss Grace Bellworthy, senior^medallist; and Miss Ethel Chamberlain, intermediate medallist, for singing. The other awards have already been published. During the evening the following musical programme was given bjr successful medallists:—Piano sola, "Nuit Surlejie (A. Luzzatti), Miss Ethel Evans; piano solo, "Peasant Banco" (Ketelby), Miss Blanche Crump-, piano solo, "Impromptu, A Flat, Op. 29" (Chopin), Miss Cecilia Dwyer; pimio solo, "Impromptu, E Flat (Schubert), Miss May M'Kinley; piano solo, "Hondo in E, Op. 14, No. 1" (Beot- | hoven), Miss Grace Bellworthy.
