FIRE AT MARTON,
(By Telegraph— Special Correspondent.! Marton, July 22. A sax-roomed two-story dwelling, off; Broadway, Marlon, owned by F. R. H. liricc, and occupied by Mr. James Perr-, ton, was complexly destroyed by tiro. Thore is no water-main in this part of the borough, and the brigade had to resort to their chemical engine, which did splendid work and suppressed the llanus for nearly half an hour. Eventually, however, the high wind got tho upper hand,' and the house was completely destroyed. A portion, of the furniture was saved. The buiUliiuj was insured for .£IOO, and tho furniture for .€IOO, both in the Commercial Union.
Mr. James Macdonald,.officer in charge of the Lambton and 'ilvornclon railway stations, has been appointed to the head ollice staff. He has been succeeded by Mr. E. A. Dawson, for some years past traffic inspector for the Wellington district. The now arrangements'made by the Lords of the Admiralty dclining the boundaries of the Australian, China, Cape of Good llouc, and East Indies Stations have now come into effect. News was received by the mail that the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty have decided to rearrange the limits' of the East Indies and China .Stations, so as to include Singapore, the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java, etc., within the former command. The new Australian Station allocated to the lioyal Australian Navy is that arranged at I lie Imperial Conference of 1911. A small alteration is mado in the dividing line between the Capo and East Indies Station which does not ullcct any territory. The China Station extends to the north-easlern limit of the East Indies Station ;md Ihe northern limit of Iho Australian Station.
