THE ATTACK ON MR. SIMPSON.
O" PUBLIC SYMPATHY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Westport, July 2!.'. Residents of Seddonville at a publid meeting carried iv resolution of sympathy with. Mr. W. R. Simpson over the attack made on him in Parliament, and expressed their confidence in him as . a member ot tho Duller County Council and Westport Harbour Board. At a meeting of tl'.o latter body, tho following: resolution was also carried: "That this board has ft high, opinion of Mr. Simpson's personal qualities, and after sitting with liim for some six meeting's they have formed a most favourable opinion of his abilities as a public man, and as h valuable man in public life in this district, and regret that itny occasion has arisen whereby ho has tii suffer in his effort to render suoh public service as ho is capable of." .
