VALLANCE COOK MISSION.
In connection with the mission which i<s being conducted in Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, by the. Rev. Vallance Cook, last evening before a large congregation, Mrs. Cook, the wife of the mis; sioner, told the "Story of Her Life. Mrs. Cook, who speaks fluently and quietly held the attention ,of her audience for about an hour, while she spoke of "wint sho termed just an ordinary aiwi uneventful life." Nevertheless it was a life of great devotion to God, of valuable assistance to Methodism, and _ of influenco for good to the neighbourhood in which she lived and the society by wliich she was surrounded. Mrs. Cool: spoke of many stirring times m the religious life of Bristol, the advent of the Salvation Array, the first mission conducted by the late Thomas Cook, and other events of interest to Bristol Methodism. When only 18 years of ago Mrs. Cook started mission work, which was continued with success for many, years throughout England. I went on the Methodist preaching plan at the request of a superintendent, on trial, and they Kept me 18 years before I was admitted a fullv accredited local preacher, said Mrs. Cook. The mission will bo continued during the week.
