Messrs. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., Wclington, report:—At our Loviu, sale on Friday we submitted a largo entry of both sheep and cattle to a good attendance of buyers. Sheep wore in pood demand, and we quitted almost all lines under the hammer, at satisfactory prices. Cattle met with a dragging tale at the start, but livened up considerably at tho close of the day, and wo disposed of tho bulk of our entry under the hammer and privately. We quote the following prices:—Ewes in lamb, lis.. 153. 8d„ 17s. 6a., to 19s. 6d.; Lincoln ewes in lamb, £1 35.; hoggets, 6a. 10d., Bs. Bd.,_to 10s.; empty ewes, to 123.; fat ewes, 16s. 3d. to 175.; fat wethers, £1 to £1 25.; fat hoggets, to 15s. 4d.; springing cows, £4 45., £4 ss„ £6, £4 35., £7,1£8 la., £10 55., to £10 155.; springing heifers. £4 25., £5 155., to £6 7s. 6d.; empty heifers, to £4 135.; fat cows; to £6 65.; weaners, £1 to £2 lSe. Messrs. Dalgcty and Company, Limited, report having held their fortnightly sale at Eketaliuna on Friday last, when thero wias a largo attendance of buyers and a good entry of stock, of which a total clearance was made at tho following prices :— Sheep: Four-tootli to four-year breeding ewes, £1 os. 7d.; four-year breeding ewes, 18s.; four and five-year breeding ewes in lamb to Southdown ram, lis., 135., to 155.; medium two-tooth wethers, 15s. 4d,; Roinney cross lambs, 125.; Leicester cross, fat, 14,5.; black-faced lambs, Us. Cattle; Mixed woaners, £1 7s. 6d.; two-year heifers, £3 14s. 6d.; heifers in milk, £5 17s. 6d. Messrs. Dalgcty and Company, Limited, Palmerston North report having a moderate entry of both sheep and cattle at their Feilding sale on Friday. Quotations:— Sheep; Fat wethers, 19a 7d. to-£l 35.; light fat ewes, 15s. 3d.; forward ewes, lis. 4d.; medium ewe hoggets, lCs. to 11a. 2d.; lj.f. lambs, 12s. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report:—We havo a good entry of both sheep and catt-lo at Feilding on Friday. Prices were easier for lioggcts, other lines and cattle selling at late rates. We quote;— Mixed hoggets, 12s. 2d.,\ 123. 4d.; 6mall. hoggets, to 10s. 7d.; two-tooth ewes in lamb, 18s. 4d.; good yearling heifers, £3 9?.; 18-month heifers, £3 125.; dairy cows, £6, £6 ss. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on. their Feilding Ealo, lield on Friday:—Wo had a good entry of sheep and a fair entry of cattlo; lambs wore not quito as good as last week's rates. We quote:—Wether lambs, 14s. 2d.; mixed lambs, lie. lid.; ewe' lambs, 13s. 7d.; four and fivo-yoar ewes in lamb to Eoninoy, 17s. 9d.; fair owes in lamb, 14s. lid. to 15s. Messrs. Abraham and William 3, Ltd., report:—At Konini on July 18 we held a highly successful sale on behalf of Mr.' George Grogory. who has sold his farm. Tho herd of cows were a well-established lot, and sold consistently well, with two exceptions (aged cows), prices ranged from £6 to £11.'., making the good average of close on £8; lieifers in calf, £5 10s. to £6; weaner heifers, £2; light hers??, £3 12<s. 6d. to £6 ss. Urenui, for Mr. 11. H. Daveny's sale there was boisterous weather. Early calvers made up to £10; lato calvers, £6 10s. to £7 55.; poor-conditioned or very late, £3 to £5 53. On July 16 at Mr. 0. Nash's sale, at Stratford the herd of cows was very mixed. Best cows brought from £9 10s. to £11; fair sorts, £5 15s. to £8 155.; aged and backward, £2 2s. 6d. to £4 10s.; weaners, £2 10s.; lambs, Us. Id. to 12s. On tho same day, for Mr. P. 11. E. Surrey's pedigree sale at W&iwakaiho, tlie.ro was a good and representative attendance from all parts of tho district and Itangatekei. Prices, 011 the whole, were very satisfactory. The many bulls were looking rough and wero rather on tho small side, and, considering t-ho unfavourable conditions, sold at very satisfactory prices. Tho highest prices were for cow "Vegal Tincy," to Mr. E. Long, Mamaia, 71gns.; cows "Slielia," to Mr. L. G. Andrews, Bell Block. 67gns.; hoifor "Testa's Campanile," to Mr. W. R. Butler, Manaiia, 62gns.; cow "White Carnation," to Mr. If. Stratford, Palmerston North, 60gn5.: tho 18 pedigree cows averaged 33gns., and the seven pedigree heifers averaged 41gns.; pedigree bulls from Bto 20gna At lluiroa, on Thursday a sale of pedigree and grade cattle was held, on account of Mr. D. Catkin. The stock was all in good condition, both pedigree and grades showing lots of quality, and were considerably above the average. Prices for the pedigree cattle were in favour of buyers; the 16 grade cows, which were a particularly line lot, made from £9 to' £23, with an averago of £14 10s. The 40 cows offered on account of Mr. W. Phillips were a rea-lly good line, selling very readily from £5 10s. to £15 Its., thi.3 herd averaging just £10.
