It is reported that the Federal Labour Party is not in perfect harmony; that certain members of tho late Cabinet are not friendly with their colleagues. At a meeting of the Labour caucus before the opening of Parliament a determined attempt was made to depose Mr. Fisher from tho leadership." It is stated that Mr. Signs (? Higgs), a Queenslander, secured twenty-one out of fifty-seven votes. At a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party, held on July 9, Mr. Andrew Fisher was re-elected Leader and Senator M'Gregor Doputy-Leader. Mr. Watkins was also re-elected Secretary and Whip in the llouso of Representatives, and Senator do Largie Whip in the Senate. Next day Senator Gibbons, a Queenslander, was elected President of the Senate.
