TROCAS SHELL POACHERS.
JAPANESE SCHOONER SEIZED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, July 17. Advices from tho Solomon Islands state that suspicions werq aroused by tho sudden appearance of a Japanese schooner named Adele: . Tho captain, questioned regarding tho visit, replied: "Wo shall continue to look." The matter was reported to Mr. C. M. Woodford, tho Britisli Commissioner, who found tho Adolo at Utopia, and had her seized and towed to Tulgai, tho captain being ordered to pay three hundred pounds for engaging in the collection of trocas shell without possessing, a license. Tho money was not forthcoming, and tho schooner -was therefore confiscated. The captain is coining to Sydney to consult tho Japancso Consul. Tt is reported that he previously took two shipments of shell to Noumea.
