; SUCCESSFUL MEETING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Greymouth, July 15. Mr. 11. L.-Michel addressed a crowded meeting in the Opera House to-night, and received a most flattering reception. His address for tho most part, was confined to a reply to statements made by Mr. M. Hannan, the Liberal candidate, and to the attitude adopted l>y the local press towards him. He also dealt at length with the West port. Harbour Board inquiry, and denied, on behalf of Lady Guinnlcss and the Hon. A. L. Ilerdman, that tho latter had promised to retain the services of six Parliamentary messengers appointed by Sir \ It. Guinness ami lately dismissed. Mr. J. Pavne, M.P. for Grey Lynn, and Mills addressed a large audience on behalf of Mr. V. C. Webb, the Social Democratic caTutUtatc, antl recetvea on exo:llent hearing. Mr. Hannan wilt speak to-morrow night in the Town Llall.
