"PECULIAR HABIT OF DISTORTING." "Your Worship has a peculiar habit, of distorting things ill your speeches," wiw tho very unexpected remark of City Councillor .T. Fuller to tho Mayor (Mr. J. T. Luke) during last night's City Council meeting. Tho Mayor: I must ask you to withdraw that. Councillor Fuller: Well, not exactly "distorting," perhaps The Maj-or: Will you kindly resumo your scat. I say you must withdraw that remark. A councillor: Withdraw it unreservedly. Councillor Fuller: Yes, I withdraw it. Ono would not call it misrepresenting, but you certainly seem to get hold of the wrong end of tho stick. (Laughter.) It would 1)0 better, perhaps, if you listened more. The Mayor: If you didn't talk so mueli I could hear better. Councillor Fuller: I don't talk much. I like to listen. In fact, a man's got tq keep his ears open. (Laughter.)
