FARMERS' CONFERENCE.

OPENING TO-DAY. The twelfth annual Dominion conference of tho New Zealand Farmers' Union will open in Wellington this morning. A largo attendance of delegates is expected, and many important remits will be discussed. Tho presidential address'will be delivered this morning by Mr. J. G. Wilson. It is anticipated that the conference will last throughout the rest of tho week.

At a - mooting of th© directors of tho Waverloy Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., saya our special correspondent, it was decided to pay a bonus to milk suppliers of'one'penny per lb. for butter-l'at supplied' during the season. The amount paid out for butter-fat for the season totals .£11,299 12s. 4d., and after paying a bomfs of one penny will bring the average price paid for butter-fat supplied during the season up to 13.20 d.. per lb. The bonus will ba ijaid out at th© annual general meeting of shareholders, which is to be held early in August. During discussion on the question of Agricultural Colleges at tho Wanganui Technical College Committee meeting on Friday night, Mr. Braik said that it would cost the Government .£50,000, independent of t-lio land, for each agricultural college erected in New Zealand. Ho said ho based his figures on Australian expenditure, and it included a through equipment, embracing stock, instruments, etc. At the conclusion of the meeting of tho Masterton A. and P.
