MR, AUBREY BOUCICAULT. By TeJeerapli—Prws Association—Copyrftht ""(Sydney "Sun" Special.) London, July 13. Tho death has occurred at New York of Mr. Aubrey Boucicault, actor and playwright. Mr. Aubrey Boucicault was an aetor of excellent repute oml high standing. He was a son of tho late Mr. Dion Boucicault, actor and playwright (who wrote "Colleen Bawn," "Arrah-na-Pogue, "Tho Sliaughraun," and "The Octoroon"), and a brother of Mr. Dion Boucicault (for many years in partnership with tho late Mr. Robert Brough in Australasia), Misses Nina and Era Boucicault. Tho late Mr. Boucicault was born in London on Juno 23, 1869, and after being educated, soundly fit the ■ City of Ixuidon School and at Eton, made his first appearanco on the stago at St. Louis, U.S.A., on March 11„ 1887, as Picard iu "Tho Two Orphans." His London debut was as tho Hon. Bob Jay in "Tho Don," with tho late Mr. J. L. Toole. Since then ho has played many parts, mostly in high comedy and farce. Ho revived his father's Irisli plays in America in 189G, and tho same year was Boon as the Major in Gilbert aiid Sullivan's _ opera "Patience." After tlisit Amorica monopolised hi 6 services for some years, during which time ho was associoted with Richard Mansfield, Otis Skinner, Nat Goodwin, and Viola Allon.
