PROGRESS TO DATE. Speaking to a reporter about the treeplanting at Point Halswell, the Minister for Justice (tho Hon. A. L. 17<-r<lmaii) stated that the work is proceeding apace. At the presont date the -prisoners liavo dug 147,940 pits, and the actual planting has commenced. So far 20,000 young trees liavo been placed in tho--ground, and tho remaining pits will no doubt bo filled before tlio end of August.
