SUPREME COURT.
ORPINGTON CHAMPIONSHIPS. In. the Supreme Court on Saturday morning Mr. Justice Sim delivered judg-' ment on an interlocutory matter in connection with the case of tho Wellington Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society, of Wellington, and another v. the North Island Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary As sociation, of Auckland, and others. The matter before the Court was a motion for an interim injunction to restrain tho North Island Association from allotting the Orpington championships to any society other than the Wellington Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society (plaintiffs). It was not disputed that the championships for 1013 had been allotted by tho North Island Association (defendants) to tho Wellington Society (plaintiffs), but it was claimed that the Wellington Society did'not comply with the conditions on which they were allotted, and that therefore tho -North Island' Association was justified in withdrawing them. The association purported to withdraw them and to allot them to another society. In the opinion of 'his Honour, however, the allotment having been made to the Wellington Society, it had a prima' facie to have matters kept in statu quo until tho hearing of the action it had commenced. An interim injunction was accordingly granted. .. • Mr. E. C. Lowey appeared • for tho Wellington Society, while Mr. T. Youngappeared for tho North Island Association.
