BENEFIT PERFORMANCE.
Although thero was a good deal of sunshine in tho early part of yesterday afternoon, tho temperature began to cool shortly after 3 o'clock. Nevertheless, there was a large attendanco at Newtown Park. The object of the performance was to assist tho widow and children of the lato Guiseppe Pisani (harpist), who was accidentally killed by a motor-car in Willis Street in February. Tho Wellington City Band, under tho baton of Lieutenant T. Herd, rendered a oapital programme, A collection made at the gates resulted Tn a sum of ,£23 IBs. BJd. being taken. Of this amount tho expenses will total about iC2.
