At a meeting o{ tho Waihi Borough Council last evening tho following resolution was carried unanimously: "That this it council strongly (resents tho reports and statements made in tho House of Eepre- - sentatives in regard to tho late trouble d in Waihi by Messrs. Hobertson and d Payne as being unfounded and contrary to "fact; that this council congratulates the Hon. W. F. Jlassey and tho Hon. A. L. Herdman for promptly denying such i statements, and placing before members '• the plain facts relative to such happenings."
