DEADLOCK THREATENED.
LORD LANSDOWNE'S MOVE. "THE JUDGMENT OF THE COUNTRY." By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright ] London, July 9. In tho House of Lords, the Marquis of Lansdowne (Leader of the Opposition) has given notice to move, when the Home ltule Bill is moved a second time: "That tho House declines to considor tho Bill until it has been submitted to the judgment of tho country." Lord Lansdowno's action is interpreted in some quarters as an attempt to circumvent tho Parliament Act, and create an immediate deadlock. According to present arrangements, tho debate in tho Houso of Lords closes on Tuesday evening. FUNDS FROM MELBOURNE. (Rec. July 11, 0.30 a.m.) London, July 10. Mr. Ecdinond (Nationalist Leader) lias received a congratulatory cablegram from the Melbourne Irish League, on the passing of the Home Rule Bill, and 1 notifying him of the dispatch of ,£IOO "to smooth your way."
