REPORT ON RECENT SCANDAL. CHARGES NOT SUSTAINED. Br' Talegmph—Pr«al Auoclatlon—OopyrluM Sydney, July 9. In its report the Special Committee appointed by tho Board of Cricket Control to inquiro into certain charges against several members of the last Australian, team that visited England, finds that many of the complaints wore not substantiated by ovidence, and, in regard to those that were, the coinmitteo fails to see that the board would bo justified in taking further action. The committee regrets that the powers conferred by the boafd on the Finance Committee that supervised tho tour were not carried out, and recommends that with regard to future tours steps should bo taken to provont a recurrence of this neglect. The committee strongly endorses the recommendation of the manager of tho team that in the selection of future teams to visit England and South Africa the qualifications of candidates other than individual cricket ability should be weighed, and the names of all candidates submitted to the board for approval., The board adopted the report.
