PUBLIC NOTICES. WELLINGTON CITY. COUNCIL. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES. "jVOTICE is hereby given that the Wel- ~■" lington City Council proposes, at the Ordinary Meeting, to be held at. tho Town Hall, Wellington, on THURSDAY, the 24th day of JULY, 1913, to make and levy under the provisions of "The Rating Act, 1908," and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the following Rates for the period commencing on tho Ist day of APRIL, 1913, and ending oil the 31st day of MARCH, 1014, namely:— GENERAL RATE. A General Rato for the general purpose of the City under Section 78 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1905," of Twopence and One-tenth of a Penny (2 l-10d.) in the Pound on the unimproved rateable value on the Valuation Roll of all rateable property within tho City. LIBRARY RATE. A Library Rate under the provisions of Section 90 of "Tho Municipal Corporation's Act, 1908," of One-thirteenth of a Penny (l-13d.) in the Pound on the. rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property within the City. HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE. A Rate under tho provisions of Section 41 of "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909," of Threepence (3d.) in the Pound on the annual rateable value on the Valuation Roll on all rateable property within tlik> City, such rate being required to meet the contributions payable by the Council to tho Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. WATER RATE. Water Rate (ordinary supply) under tho provisions of Section 83 'of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," as under:—On all land and buildings in the city used as dwellingliouses to which water is supplied—(a) Where tho annual rateable value on the Valuation Roll docs not exceed .£l2 10s., a rate of ten shillings; (b) wlioro such annual rateable value exceeds JCI2 10s., a rate of 2J per cent, on such value. One-half of the respective AVater Rates mentioned above on all land and buildings to which water can be supplied but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards of any part of the waterworks, and on all buildings used as stores or warehouses or for any purposo other than dwellingliouses. Also, that all the above Rates will be payable in two equal instalments on the 31st day of Julv and the 2nd day of DECEMBER, 1913. SANITATION RATES. NOTICE is also hereby given that the Wellington City Council' intends to levy a portion equal to Seven Twenty-sixths of a Penny (7-26 d.) in tho Pound on the unimproved valuo of tho Special Rate of One Shilling in the Pound (on tho annual value) and a portion equal to One Twenty-sixth of a Penny (1-26<1.) in tho Pound (on'the unimproved value) on all rateable property in the City as it was bounded prior to its amalgamation with the Borough of Melrose, and on other < portions of the City, being the lands described in the first schedule to "The Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation Act, 1893," which Special Rate? <vtrfc made and levied under "The Wellington City Sanitation Loan Empowering Act, 1892," and "The Wellington City Sanitation Loan Act, 1897," respectively, for interest' and sinking fund for the Wellington City Sanitation Loans raised under the said Acts, payable by two equal instalments on the dates fixed in that behalf by the Special Order making the said Rate, during tho yearly period of, the years 1913 and 1911 covered by the said Rate. CONSOLIDATION LOAN REPAYMENT LOAN. RATE- SPECIAL RATE. NOTICE is also hereby given that the Wellington City Council intends to levy a portion, One-tenth of a Penny (l-10d.) in tho Pound, of the Special' Rate of One Penny and One-fifth of a Penny in ilve Pound on tho Rateable Value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City as it was bounded prior to its amalgamation with tho Borough of Melrose, for payment of interest,/ sinking fund, and other charges on the Wellington Citv Consolidation Loan, 1870, Repayment Loan, 1906, _nf ,6200,000 made under "The Citv,of Wellington Loan Consalidation Act. 1876," : "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and their amendments, payable in two equal instalments on the dates' fixed in, that behalf bv the Spccial Order making the said Rate, during (lis yearly period of the years 1913 and 1914 covered by the said Rate.

CITY IMPROVEMENTS LOANSPECIAL RATE. NOTICE is'also hereby given that the Wellington City Council intends to levy a portion, equal to One-fifth of a I'cnnv in the Pound (1-5), on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Wei lingtcn as it was bounded prior to its amalgamation with the Borough of Melrose of the Special Rate of Sixpence in the Pound on the l annual value of such property for payment of interest on tho City Improvements Loan of .£IOO.OOO, payable by two equal instalments on the Order making the said Rate, during the yearly period of the years 1013 and 1914 covered by the said rate. MELROSE IMPROVEMENTS LOAN RATE. NOTICE is also hereby given tluit the Wellington Citv Council intends to levy a portion (Ondthird of a Penny in the Pound) of the Special Rate of Four-fiftlm of a Penny in the Pound on the unimpreved value on all property in that portion of the City lately included in the Borough' of Melrose made and levied under "Tho Local Bodies' Loans Acl, 1901." "The Municipal Corporations Acl, 1900," and their amendment*, for tho purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and charges in respect of tho Melrose Streets Improvement Loan of ,£3:!,500, payable by two equal half-yearly instalments on the date iixed iu that behalf by the Special Order making the said Kate, during the yearly period of the years 1913 and 1911 covered by tho said rate.' OUTLYING DISTRICTS DRAINAGE LOAN RATE. NOTICE is also hereby given" that, the' Wellington City Council intends to levy a portion (equal to Five-sevenths of a Penny in the Pound) of the Special Rate I of One Penny in the Pound on tho basia of tho unimproved value on the rateable value of all property in the portion of the City . which formerly constituted tho Borough of Melroso and the portions of tho City formerly comprised in the Boroughs of Karori and Onslow, excluding from tho siimo tho portions of the Boroughs of Melrose and Karori, defined'in the first schedule to "Tho Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation. Act, 1893," made and levied under "ThoV Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and "Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and their respective amendments, made over the portion of the City formerly comprised in the Borough of Melrose, exclusivo of tho portion thereof defined in the first schedule to "The Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation Act, 1893," and extended by "The Wellington City Empowering Act, 1908," to the portions of tho Boroughs of Karori and Onslow now included in the City, exclusive of the portions thereof defnu'd in the first schedule to "The Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation Act, 1893," for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges in respect of "The .Wellington City (part 3felro.se District) Drainage Loon. 1908," ot ,£IOO,OOO, payable by two equal instalments oil tho dates fixed in that behalf by the Special Order making the said Rate, during tho yearly period of the years 191-1 and 1911 covered by tho said late.
