» WITH OVERSEA DOMINION NAVIES. By Teleeraph—Ptceb Association—Copyrieit London, July 7. Sir Gilbert Parker (Unionist), in the Houso of Commons, inquired whether Australia had accepted Admiral Sir Reginald Henderson's report in part, or in its entirety, on Australian naval defences. Ho asked for details of construction, extent of personnel of the Australian fleet, annual oost, and also of the progress of the small arms factory and the naval college. He also, ho said, liad a question relating to naval works at Montreal. Mr. Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty, replied that these were tho first questions of the sort asked since he bad been in offico; therefore ho was bound to make it clear that tho Admiralty was not in a position to reply to questions regarding an oversea, Dominions Navy. If members of tho Houso of Commons assumed such, a position they might easily givo offenco. (Cheers.)
