METHODISM.
The quarterly meeting of the management of the Taranaki Street Methodist Church met last evening, the Kev. J. G. Chapman presiding. There was an attendance of forty, including several ladies. This being the first quarterly meeting since the union of Methodist and Primitive Methodist took place, lent an additional interest to tho proceedings. Reports from the various sections of tho Church were u/iscusscd, and were considered satisfactory, especially those relating to the young people's department. An increase of 150 junior members was reported. The financial report was considered satisfactory. An important discussion took place with reference to proposals for the consolidation and increased efficiency of Methodism in Wellington in the near future. Tho proposals were received with favour. Reference was also made to the coming visit of tho llev. Vallauce and Mrs. Cook on a mission of inspiration and appeal. Mr. and Mrs. Cook will.be .welcomed to the ci,ty in Wesley, Hall, .Taranaki Street, on Saturday evening nc'it.
