Lamb.—Tho market is weak, with downward tendency. Prices have declined id. per lb. for best quality. There is a dull 6ale for heavy carcasses of lamb. Canterbury twos, 6d. per lb.: heeavy-weleht fours. 5d.; other • than Canterbury, 5Jd. Beef.—The market is firm. Thero is a poorer demand for fores. N.Z. hinds. :4}d. per lb.; fores, 3Jd.: chilled hinds, 6 6-16 d. per lb.; fores, 3d. Butter.—Tho market is auiet. There Is no change in prices. Cheese.— I Tho market is firm, and prices continue to advance. There ia a good do mand for New Zealand cheese, first hand stocks of which are practically cleared. N.Z. white, per cwt., 655. 6d.; coloured. 653. 6d.; Canadian, new make, finest white and coloured, 635. to 655. Hemp—The marKot is rather unsettled and speculative. Prices are irregular. N.Z. good fair grade, per _ton, £29 10s.: fair, £26; fair current Manila, £29. Forward shipment, about tho same. Tho output from Manila, for the week was 16,000 balea. Kauri Gum.—Tho market is quiet, but firm, with a fair demand.
