(By Telegraph—Frees Association.) Auckland, July 3. The outbreak of chicken-pox which recently caused 9ome concern at Mangore is spreading among the Maoris in that district. Last week a Native woman died there, and, although tho immediate causc of death was stated by Dr. Tresidder to bo syncope, tho latter said that deceased had also suffered from chickenpox. Several other Maoris woro also known to be ill, and yesterday a Maori named Taiwa Honana reported the death of a Native named Maiki Kukumono to the police at Onehunga. As deceased had not been attended by a medical man an inquest was held this morning. The fact 1 that death took place among fii'fiiy and revolting surroundings was one of the features of the evidence. The finding was that death was brought on by chicken-pox and neglected dirty condition.
