A strong south-east galo is raging', with, rough seas, j The downpour, in; tlio city this afternoon was one of the heaviest ever experienced. The streets were transformed into rivors, and all low-lying areas wore flooded. Record rainfalls have occurred in the South Coast districts, •when? eleven inches have been recorded. With occasional breaks, wot weather has prevailed since Easter, and farmers are despondent, being unable to work their land. Tho roads everywhere are in a deplorablo condition. The storm is unabated, and telegraphic communication is badly dislocated.
