BOLT IN AUCKLAND STREET.
HORSE'S MAD DASH. (By Telegraph.—ProM Association.) Auckland, Juno 28. A somowhat sensational trap accident occurred in Queen Street this morning. Charles F. Hendry and Win. L. Belot wero driving down from the Karangahapo Koad when tho horso took fright, and bolted'. A wild course wa.9 pursued down tho steep grado towards tho Grey Statue, and, when opposite tho Town Hall, tho horso careered towards the side of tlio street and collided with an olectrio light post. The impact was terrific and tlio vehicle was slowed Tight round and camo down, breaking tlio shafts. Both occupants of tho trap wore tossed high in the.. air and fell on tho footpath. They wero picked up in a battered condition, and, as it was evident that the injuries wero serious, they were conveyed immediately to the public hospital. Hendry sustained a broken rib unci severe injuries to tho head, while Belot' had on ankle broken, and received other injuries.
