CITIZENS' APPEAL TO THE PRIVY COUNCIL. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright Sydney, June 25. A large meeting of citizens at the Town Hall, the Lord Mayor presiding, decided to appeal to the Privy Council against the Federal High Court decision regarding the Government House case. Subscription lists were opened to meet the costs of the appeal, and J2BOO was subscribed' in the room. Several of the speakers claimed that a majority, of the -people was in favour of 'retaining Government House as a residence for the Governor-General. In view of the previous verdict of the Supreme Court of the State, as opposed to the High Court verdict, a question such as this, which had stirred the hearts of the people; should bo tested before the highest tribunal of the Empire.
