' The North Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard lias adopted tho report of tlio Hospital Committee recommending the acceptance of tlio offer ot a Governor's Hay resident to fi'v« acres of land at. tho Hay and .£IOOO ill cash for tho purposes of a convalesce t home for children, the oflcr also includes provision for endowing tho institution with an income of ,£COO or after tho donor's decease, three acres to be set aside for buildings, and the remaining right acres to bo sold alter tho lapse of a certain period to bo specified, and tho proceeds held in trust ,ipr t ie purposes of tho institution. The institution is to bo undenominational, the only stipulaHon bring that a hymn bo siuigand ho Lord's I'rayer said each evening, LMldien other than hospital patients may be admitted. The valuo of tho donation is about JC3OOO, which will ban- a Government subsidy equal ito about .C3GOO.
